11 days and counting! Golden Heart & Rita awards coming up fast!

11Eleven days until the award ceremony!

Between housework and organizing a folder of the notes I need for the conference, today is already flying by. I’ve timed, cut, and refined my acceptance speech, should the need arise. 😉 My short pitches underwent some revision yesterday, and look good to me today.

For the rest of the day? Get a query off to an agent (maybe two). Look at my long pitches, for appointments with agent(s) and editor(s) in Atlanta. Write this month’s contribution to the Catholic Writers Guild blog, due too soon after the conference to risk leaving it till then!

And best of all? I’ve got an hour blocked out for writing on my current story. Yes!!!

Too soon, too soon. And I have a local chapter meeting to preside over on Saturday, the lawn’s gonna need cutting before I leave, and I’m to far behind on writing to ever catch up (no, that’s not true, I will, but not until I get back from Atlanta). Still, looking forward to the trip. The ceremony’s just the cherry on top.

I am SO looking forward to meeting you, Kay! I, too, am excited about the trip, the workshops, the networking, and seeing people I haven’t seen for a while! Plus, meeting all the new ones in our Lucky 13s 2013 Golden Heart group!

I haven’t been to a national conference for several years; I think the last one was Washington, DC. This one will be a far different experience than what I’m used to, but I’m anticipating a wonderful time. Sometimes, getting out the door is the best part. At that point, everything’s done that going to get done, and there’s a sense of both relief and inevitability. What will be, will be.

    Safe travels, Kay!

    Love the graphics!

You actually have time for housework?

Looks like fun for all in Atlanta.

    • Leslie Lynch says:

Housework. Yes. It keeps me grounded. 😉

Glad you like the graphics! I had fun searching for them.

Right now I’m waiting for the pickles to cool before they go into the jars and then the refrigerator. The cucumbers, hot peppers and garlic are all from the garden. That beats house work in my book. I’m the laundry and dish washer.
