14 days until the Golden Heart!

14The countdown begins: Fourteen days until the Romance Writers of America® Golden Heart® (unpublished) and Rita® (published) awards!

I am unabashedly rooting for fellow Louisville Romance Writers member Katie McGarry, who is a double nominee for Rita awards in the categories of Young Adult and Best First Novel. Go Katie!

My assignment for today: Write an acceptance speech. Thanks to my mathematically gifted husband, I know each of us in the Contemporary Single Title category of the Golden Heart have a 12 1/2 % chance of hearing our name called on July 20. Since that’s considerably higher than 0 %, and because I will blather incoherently if I don’t prepare ahead, I’d better get busy!

Any guesses on how long it will take to write a less-than-two-minute speech? I’ll let you know tomorrow…
